Mac Sweeney’s

This was drawn during my first Autumn in Seattle, 1991, while in a sentimental mood. This scene at Mac Sweeney’s (a bar that no longer exists), is drawn from my college days in the late 80’s, a memory that gave me comfort during the transition between a lively social life in Athens to the relative loneliness of my early days in Seattle.
Mac Sweeney’s was an epitome of my early college life: It was a place in a time when we could smoke in bars (and not worry about cancer), dance to  psychedelic music, stumble back to the Franklin House with our clique, and never care about the time. I know that some of you remember those nights at Mac Sweeney’s. It was a place where everyone kinda knew everyone else, and where there was always a chance that you might run into someone you kinda had a crush on.
It was a dive of a bar, and I kinda remember enjoying the place. Anyone remember what band this is playing?
