Sketches from “Hide and Seek”

This morning I took down the exhibit “Hide and Seek”, which was on display at the Athens library for the month of December. I always feel a bit melancholy when I take down an exhibit, but this one was particularly dear to me. I thought I’d share a few of the many dozens of sketches and variations of the exhibit’s development that took place over the month of November. This was a highly satisfying and challenging project, one that I’m pleased to have had the opportunity to show.

Many of the images here are from my basement, where I hung sketches in a room that was approximately the size of the room for the exhibit. The idea was to use the space of the room itself as a visual experience.

There is a possiblity that this exhibit will be on display in Pittsburgh, PA, as well as Ann Arbor, MI. later in 2015. I’ll let you know.
