When I was a kid, I loved raccoons. My favorite stuffed animal was a raccoon I named Ricky. I used to fall asleep with Ricky in my arms.
Now, of course, I realize the truth about raccoons. Their teeth and claws can be lethal. I will never feel comfortable with a raccoon anywhere near me, let alone in my arms as I go to sleep.
There is a gang of raccoons that frequent our yard at night, and they’ve given me my newest fear and anxiety to draw……. Here are a few practice runs with raccoon sketches. Enjoy. (But be careful!)

Raccoons are really smart- they can figure out how to get into anything if they really want to.
They aren’t evil, though!
