Smoog is a little dog from the planet Zeerox, who travels the galaxy in a tiny space craft, in search of treasure and adventure. The first time I drew Smoog on paper was in December 1994, when I lived in Seattle. I drew 10 episodes of Smoog, sending each as monthly installments to my friends back home. Here are the very first scenes from my original story in which Smoog makes his appearance to Evan Wiggins, a bank accountant on Earth.

The story continues in the 2nd installment of Smoog, Jan. 1995.

Smoog’s character has undergone some evolution in his appearence, but the essence of his character has remained fairly consistent. He’s appeared in multiple works of mine in the last 21 years, from comic stories and graphic novels to shorter written stories. Here are just a few images of Smoog throughout the years.
