This is an excerpt from Existential Fish: Auggie and Delphina are among my favorite characters in Episode Two of the “Neener Neener” cartoons. The toad that Delphina presents to Auggie (named Charles) becomes a major character as the story progresses.   

As of today, Existential Fish is available in local bookstores in Athens, Ohio. It is both exciting and terrifying to put my work out into the public, and hope that people will enjoy it and want to spend their money on it. I’m familiar with the mix of adrenaline and fear that hits just before stepping onto the stage; It’s the feeling anyone knows who’s worked hard on an intimate project and is about to share it with the world. There’s a feeling of vulnerability in  placing my work under the scrutiny of the public eye, hoping desperately it might find its niche, and thrive.

Someone dear to me once told me: “Never be ashamed of what you can do, Stephen!” I try to remember that as often as I can.
